As seen on "Borat", Yes Alan was the announcer for the rodeo that comedian Sacha Baron Cohen chose to prank for his movie Borat. "It's probably not going to be my favorite memory...... but I'll never forget it," said Moorhead. Some of Moorhead's favorite memories are times announcing the NBHA World shows, the BFA World Championships, the International Finals Rodeo, the IPRA's Central Region and Southeast Region Finals Rodeos, the WPRA All Womens National Finals Rodeo and hosting Horsecity.com TV on RFDTV.
Moorhead, a lifelong rodeo fan who has more than 20 years experience calling equine events, is in his eleventh year as a full time Pro-Rodeo announcer, after several years of announcing horse shows and rodeos while working full time at Kimberly Clark Corp. 1996 marked the year Moorhead, with the support of wife and family would take the leap of faith and follow his dream to make a career as a Pro-Rodeo announcer.
Moorhead has been the voice of the National Barrel Horse Association's World Championships since 1994, The Barrel Futurities of America World Championships since 2001, The Sharon Camarillo Classic since 2000. With his knowledge of the barrel horse and barrel racing Moorhead offers a well rounded and exciting rodeo performance that has had an impact on rodeos from the Carolinas to California.
Moorhead brings natural enthusiasm to his work behind the mic. It stems from his love of equine sports.
"It's more than just a job," Moorhead said. "It's something I enjoy doing. I get caught up in the action as a fan of rodeo as well as it’s spokesman. I feel it's important to entertain and inform the lifelong rodeo fan as well as educate the first time spectator. I like to announce from the stand point as if I were sitting with a friend at their first rodeo and educating them.” This style along with a deep seeded understanding of the importance of sponsor recognition has landed Moorhead the South Carolina High School Finals and several regional rodeo finals.
